EMI—Codes
The artwork was designed while working at Detail Design Studio. The brief was to create an album and single sleeve for newly signed band Codes. Having branded themselves previously they were keen to maintain a very ornate feel and the heraldic symbols and black cover were not negotiable. Their style of music has certain orchestral qualities however it's mix with modern synths and Kaos Pads gave it a unmistakably contemporary/pop feel. The job was spec'd with a gloss over print (for the heraldic marks) as well as four specials. The band unfortunately decided to go with their own design and the artwork was never put into production.
